Managing Exercise On Holiday
You might be someone who likes to completely relax and do nothing on holiday - which we can totally get behind! However, if you are someone who likes to keep active on holiday, we’re sharing a few tips on how to manage holiday workouts whilst still getting the rest your body deserves!
Switch It Up!
The great thing about exercising on holiday is that you don’t have the restrictions you normally do day to day. You can exercise how you want, when you want. So maybe you take the opportunity to do something you don’t normally do on a regular basis! Maybe head to the pool for a swim, enjoy a round of golf, head out for a walk or cycle ride, or even some kayaking! Take time to let your body try something new and different to add some variety.
Keep It Easy
However you choose to keep active on holiday, try to keep things low key. It’s great that you want to be out exercising even whilst on a break but it doesn’t mean that your body doesn’t deserve a little rest. So keep it to a light jog, a leisurely cycle, an enjoyable swim. Keep yourself feeling good whilst keeping your body happy!
Don’t Feel Pressure - Listen To Your Body
If you are working out on holiday because you want to stay on track with a training programme, our biggest piece of advice is to listen to your body. Sometimes we feel pressure to keep our sessions going because we are worried about losing progress. Don’t forget that a big part of progressing is taking care of your body so it’s important that you listen to when you need to just lie by the pool and relax! If in doubt, chat to your trainer about how to manage your programme whilst away.
