Summer Solstice - How To Review Your First Half Of The Year

Over the weekend we marked summer solstice the longest day. Marking the halfway point of 2025, we know it can feel overwhelming. So we’ve got some tips on how to review the first 6 months of the year.

  1. Write down all the positives

Sometimes we are so busy worrying about what we haven’t achieved yet this year, that we forget all the good things that have happened already! Before thinking about what else needs to happen, take a moment to write down everything positive that’s happened to you, maybe a kind gesture from someone, maybe you took a step towards something - even the little things are a win!

2. Can you remember the New Year goals you set without looking?

Many people, when asked, actually can;t remeber the goals they set at the start of the year. If you can then that’s great, you can reivew how things are going os far. If you can’t remember, it’s usually a sign that those goals were maybe not quite right for you and now is a good time to set some new ones.

There’s no shame in not having made as much progress as you’d have liked, life throws ups and downs and so we shouldn’t feel too much pressure! For existing goals, write down what steps you have taken to achieving them. For new goals, write down the steps you are going to take to achieve them - having a plan will always help!

3. Talk to other people

Normally, most of us have not achieved as many things as we’d have liked in half a year. So in all likelihood you are not alone. Chatting to people about your goals can be a good way to get reassurance and maybe even some inspiration for how to move forwards! We can all learn a lot from each other so sharing is often a good way to create a positive start towards the second half of the year!
