Scrap the Quick Fix: Why Longevity Should Be Our Focus

We understand the desire to see quick results, it helps us stay motivated, shows that our effort is paying off - but is it the best thing to focus on?

We’re going to explore how focusing on long term results and longevity will lead to a stronger body and mind.

Why quick fixes are false fixes

In all honesty, quick fixes do not exist in health and fitness. Extreme diets and exercise might see you lose weight very quickly or see your body shape change dramatically - but is this really improving your health and wellbeing?

These things will see short term results that may make you feel better but if you stop focusing on the quick fix and start looking at the long term goal, you will see that a different approach to exercise can be more beneificial.

Building Your Long Term Health

When we think about our long term health span, we aren’t just thinking about our weight or how toned we are - we’re thinking about how we age, keeping mobile and having a good quality of life even as we get older. If we can put more emphasis on elements of fitness such as functional fitness, flexibility and daily movement - we can increase our quality of life and build long term health and wellbeing.

Diet for balance rather than weight loss

If we can apply this approach to our diet as well as our fitness, we will also see long term improvements to our wellbeing. Rather than focusing on quick fix diets or calorie counting, focusing instead on eating regular, fresh, healthy and balanced meals can improve your approach to nutrition.

Short term diet plans are often not sustainable and it’s really beneficial to try and improve our mindset towards food rather than seeing it as a means to and end. If we can build daily habits that make our meals healthier, this will term into our long term approach and help us to feel more balanced.
